Meet Our Doctor
Dr. Sydney Melchert-Furstenburg
Dr. Sydney Melchert-Furstenburg has called North Carolina home for most of her life. She was raised in Reidsville, NC, and is excited to be heading back to Rockingham County after 10 years of living in the Triangle. She earned her B.S. in Biology at William Peace University and started dental school soon after. She knew she wanted to pursue dentistry when she was just 16 years old. Dr. Melchert-Furstenburg earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Chapel Hill Adams School of Dentistry. She is an active member of the ADA and is eager to utilize continuing education in order to provide as many treatments options as possible to her patients. She is very excited about the opportunity to build lifelong relationships with patients and provide them with excellent care. Out of the office, Dr. Melchert-Furstenburg enjoys traveling, hiking, reading, strength training, and spending time with her nieces and nephews. She is a big supporter of local businesses, as her mother owns a store, and her in-laws own a restaurant in Reidsville. Dr. Melchert-Furstenburg currently resides in Reidsville with her husband Ben and dog Porter. She is thrilled to be part of the Rockingham County community and to provide high quality dental care for years to come.
Dr. Clara Kohlmetz
Dr. Clara Kohlmetz recently moved to Greensboro, NC from Texas. She was raised in Allen, TX before attending the University of Houston where she earned her BS in Chemistry. She took two years off between college and dental school, spending her time working as a dental assistant for various practices in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Dr. Kohlmetz knew she wanted to become a dentist in college after shadowing local doctors, and as an assistant worked to hone her patient care skills. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the UTHealth Science Center School of Dentistry at Houston. She was a very active participant in organized dentistry through ASDA and plans to continue her membership in the ADA, AGD, and NCDS. Dr. Kohlmetz’s top priority is patient comfort, and she looks forward to serving patients in Rockingham County by providing them with excellent dental care. When not at work, Dr. Kohlmetz enjoys hiking, trying new recipes, adding to her collection of books, and hosting game nights with friends. She is excited to be joining Dr. Melchert-Furstenburg at Madison Dental and looks forward to forming lasting relationships with paitents and their families.
